My latest project is Hey Taipei, the first English picture book about Taipei.
Hey Taipei is a rhyming picture book about a little girl’s first trip to Taipei. The book was successfully funded via the crowdfunding platform zeczec in January 2019 and received more than 1,000 pre-orders from around the world. Read the story behind the book, or pick up a copy from heytaipeibook.com. You can also get news and updates on Facebook and Instagram. Hey Taipei is published by Garlic Crush Studios and printed in New Taipei City.
Tricky Taipei started as a design and culture blog in 2014.
Today it’s a vibrant online community with 3,300+ followers on Facebook, 3,800+ followers on Twitter and 1,400+ followers on Instagram. Discussions started on Tricky Taipei have made it to local Taiwan media via Apple Daily, SETN, The News Lens, TVBS, Central News Agency, Taipei Times, ETToday, LTN, CommonWealth Crossings and TTV.
Popular posts include: Notes on Pregnancy & Giving Birth in Taipei, A Made in Taiwan Gift Guide, The LAX Connection, A Piece of Taiwan Design Comes Home From Denmark, Eva Air & The Sad State of Taiwan Corporate Culture.
In June 2018, I launched Tricky Talks, an event series to bring conversations offline and into the real world.
Each event gathers international and local professionals in Taipei for a relaxed evening of food and drinks, networking and a panel discussion in English. The goal is to mix Taipei-ers from different backgrounds, industries and countries to discuss topics that influence and inspire life in this city.
Past guests have included Angela Chang, President of Taipei 101, Ian Chang, Master Blender at Kavalan Whisky, and Matt Gross, travel writer and former Frugal Traveler for The New York Times.
Launched in 2013, Thankful has been covered by TechCrunch, Dwell, Lucky, Fast Company, New York Magazine’s Weddings Issue, and was even mentioned in The New York Times in January 2017. I still run Thankful from here in Taipei.
Plus I’m a copywriter and communication strategist.
I’ve worked at Smart Design in New York City, VSA Partners in Chicago and DDG in Taipei. From time to time, I undertake brand and design consulting projects with Taiwanese companies. If you’d like to work together, please get in touch!
